We Are Deep In the Heart of Texas

Nomadic seasons of farming adventures with nature thrown in to include; a pinch of family, snippets of friends, counting our blessings, paying IT forward, home school, and the spicy things I decide to rant about.

Super Eggs-cited

My hubby showed me yesterday, the muscadine we tended through last two years drought and the crazy freeze one night (7 times) back into the 70s winter. Has made it through! YEAH

Not only that, the two he just planted have little leaf buds. OH HAPPY DAY!!!!!

SWIRLING TWIRLING AND DANCING -- gotta make some Poop Soup

So, I will leave you all with some Easter Day pictures of the boys in the yard.
This is our little man, Zephyr with confetti eggs.  Lets just say mom and dad wore most of his efforts.

Off to read some wonderful blogger contributions.  Not much planned for this day.  I need to get in touch with Sobrina, to see when the next homeschooler meeting will be because I want to join.  Seems there are 30 families in my rural area who choose to teach their children.

This a hard cold truth in this world:

Never underestimate the power, knowledge, and networking skills of some of these folks:  secretary, preacher, teacher, mail carrier, mothers, neighbor, nurses, co-op salesperson, cashier,  and flea market vendors.

Can you think of others?

That's great news, we have a form of muscadines, they call them scuppernong around here. We have 5 old vines, planted 2 more last year, not sure if one will make it, but one is strong and growing straight, we plan on adding some more in the fall till we have 10 vines. The old vines get so heavy with fruit that they sag.

WOW!!! You are so fortunate to have so many home-schoolers in your area, I am sure you are tickled pink, or pickled tink!

Have a great day!

Cute boys you have there! Looks like they had fun with their EAster eggs!

We have lots of home schoolers around here. Mine are all in their 20's, but if they were little now, I'd sure be giving some thought to homeschool myself. The world is changing, I don't like the politics and the direction I see our nation heading. I wouldn't want my kids indoctrinated with some of the stuff they are teaching in public school right now.

Just wanted to thank you, too, for stopping by with your well-wishes for my sweet mother in law. She's doing better this morning & we're hoping for a great recovery. Might need to re-think where she's living right now, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!

Have a wonderful week!

Interesting that I'm not aware of so much homeschooling around here but in the blog world, seems fairly popular. I'm all for it. Wish I had been homeschooled but my mother worked outside of the home.

Hey, thanks for your kind advice. Oddly enough as fast paced as things seem to go, we still find quiet moments to just enjoy each other. That is once the kids are distracted. haha.
Awesome job on you muscadines!
I always sigh when I hear about home schooling. Oh well I can still corrupt their brains once I'm home from work.

Maude,

I was 'heart broken' over the vine looking dead. I have not heard of scuppernog.

Texas is full of homeschoolers. Its considered private school in this state.

Vickie, I hope your MIL gets well soon. I have always wanted my MIL nearby. She is a hoot. I will keep yours in my prayers.

Joanna, There are over 300K in Texas. Can you believe that?

Jen, I am thinking of having my hubby put a swing on the front porch for a quiet shaded place for us. Then watch the boys chase chickens for entertainment. I know how much you miss being away from your precious babies. I really miss Saenz on Mondays when he is at school. Thus another reason to homeschool. You are very welcome and deserve kind words. ~:>
