We Are Deep In the Heart of Texas

Nomadic seasons of farming adventures with nature thrown in to include; a pinch of family, snippets of friends, counting our blessings, paying IT forward, home school, and the spicy things I decide to rant about.

Before and After: Silver Bullet 2 Maybe?

We bought this Honda Civic in 2004 in Maryland.  This car was an excellent choice at the time because we needed something affordable and large enough to accommodate a 6 year old boy and teenaged girl.  Flash forward to 2011 and now hubby will be driving this Honda Accord.  In an effort to make their car models more fuel efficient; Honda shrunk their car sizes.
This is his Accord which has enough back seat space for a 12 year stretching giant, 20 year old woman, and a 6 year old cubby.  Wooo Hooo! It rides so much more smoother than the Civic; we will miss the original Silver Bullet who had driven us around for over 240,000 miles.

This week will be busy our plans are to take the boys fishing, installing new phone cable, and hopefully visiting either the San Antonio Zoo or Texas State Aquarium.  How about that for homeschool fun?  The added bonus is Dad has this week off and will lend his take on our adventures.  Waaaaaaaaaaaaay cool in my book. I was wondering do ya'll have any traditions you ring in the New Year with.... say like a party or fireworks?

Up until our son graduated high school, our New Year's Eve tradition, was to buy some of those gift packs of sausage, cheese and crackers on the day after Christmas. Also some sparkling apple or grape juice. On New Year's Eve we would spread out a blanket on the living room floor and have a picnic in the evening, with the fancy wine glasses and all.

I don't believe it would be too much fun anymore, with Jack and Jill wanting some or crying in the bedroom....

Fireworks out out, because Jack goes catatonic. Besides they stink, make a mess out of the yard, and they get every dog out here barking. (Not to mention the expense)

Have a great and Happy New Year!

Usually we will try to stay upand bring in the New Year by watching Dick Clark in Times Square! We went once and there were over a million people there......exhilarating but a little unnerving at times.Have a great New Year.

Hey Barbara, We usually grill out and get the boys some small fireworks to pop out in the yard. Nothing big nor fancy; but ours. Happy New Year's

Melodie, We do the same thing. We would have to wake Zephyr up; Saenz is our night owl. Happy New Year!

Jim,
I remember fighting my sleep trying to stay up to watch Dick Clark and see the ball drop. Many is the time; I feel asleep in front of the tv. We usually watch him if we are still up but, not always. We are such country folks. Happy New Year's!
