Last Day of the Year, 2008

Many changes this year,

I want to remember tv personality Tim Russert. I miss his show Meet the Press. I have not been able to complete one show since his death from a heart attack. The world is a much less objective place without his fair reporting.

I also want to recognize Bernie Mac, who cracked me up when he did stand up and talked about raising children. Charlton Heston death also sticks with me because he was so talented and as I child I grew up with his movies on TV. Bo Diddley's death is a huge loss to the music world, no one can make a guitar cry as he did. Isaac Hayes's butter voice also a sad loss. Mr. George Caitlin, who was so profane but such an asset to freedom of speech. Golden Girls' Estelle Geddy, my favorite character. Mr Blue Eyes himself, Paul Newman in one of my all time favorite movies, Cool Hand Luke. Dody Goodman was an awesome comic. Eartha Kitt's voice in the universe will be missed. I know there are many more of those in the public eye but the one who made me sit back and actually cry was Mr. Tim Russert.

As far as my own circle of family friends, this year I am fortunate. We lost no one. However, on the 20Th this year. I called Honey to let her now how much I still love and miss Jo Jo. I can not believe its been a full year. Then again, I know the hole in my heart is still there and I miss my most beloved friend. It's weird but, I am not the 'connective' type of female. I rarely make friends because I am off in my own world focusing on my home, family, farm and surroundings. Jo Jo meant the world to me, she was the person I would become as far as 'pure faith and strength of character.'

I am also celebrating this year because America elected her first 'black' or 'African-American' President. About time, now lets move on to some one who came from true working class stock. Have you ever noticed no preachers have been elected? Can you not have 'faith' and 'democracy' in one person?

PRICES at the end of the year:

Honey crisp Apple $2.99 a pound
1 gallon whole milk $3.99
1 gallon unleaded gasoline $1.42
1 package of ramen noodle soup .20c
1 pound of regular white bread $2.19
1 pound of 80% ground beef $2.29
1 pound of NY Strip Steak $8.99
1 head of lettuce, $1.25
1 dozen store eggs white, large $1.69
1 (12 pack) national brand soda $4

I AM HOPING AND PRAYING :

for world peace
for no one to go hungry
education for all who desire to learn
shelter, monies, medicine for those without
no persecution based upon--skin, gender, age, sexual preference, disability, religion, or need

Big wishes to all,
Thanks to Our Creator,
And remember with
Our Creator;
All IS POSSIBLE--In Time

Happy New Year

Help!!!! LOL Still a week to go!

My boys are stir crazy. When it gets a bit warmer, I am sending them outside to chase Mr. Salad Fingers or our chickens with a water hose. Winter break finds them mostly wrestling with each other and running through the house.

Though Saenz likes to spice things up by using one of the cats as a shotgun pointed at his brother. ROFL

I guess the idea is to smite Zephyr with a feline gas attack.

For Mom & Dad,

I know you check this blog while on the road so, I will say Happy New Year. I will try calling you again but your cell service keeps dropping the calls. My guess is your up North again.

Plans for the coming year:

This year, I am trying to convince my dear husband to install a green house. I am seriously tired of paying crazy prices for yucky store produce and still do not want to find the Rattler surprise or Fire Ant hills before stepping on either.

Several kind eBayers, userid Rooster613 http://blogs.ebay.com/rooster613, the Star Trek Rabbi,

Lori sent heirloom pole beans,

Tali sent rhubarb

Ddskitty sent peppers and melons seeds

Shartey sent ajuga which was promptly eaten by our green greedy hens; then probably killed off by the unpredicted freezes we have gotten.

Each of these wonder folks have been gracious & helpful with my gardening learning curve. I hope to use soon as the almanac or this crazy weather points to no more freezes.

Fingers crossed this year GREEN HOUSE.

NOTE:

1. Sad to report but Saenz's Henny Penny (red production) had to be put down. She reinjured her wing beyond repair and the humane thing was to put her out of her misery since her coop mates and roosters would not leave her alone. Rest in Peace....... Ms. Henny Penny

2. Our really confused Rhode Island Red rooster, Sprocket the Spanish Rocket found his male-chicken soul. He thinks he is a guinea fowl since roosting with our small flock from hatch, thus he has imprinted on their characteristics. Mind you; he does not crow and runs about like a guinea fowl but, he mated with Lil Shartey for the first time yesterday. We are still longing to hear his first crow.

Bless your home from our happy hearts,
Nekkid Chicken

Mr. Salad Fingers 3 months

Have you ever heard a Pig squeal his displeasure/ Hee heee, I am here to tell you, it is a deafening sound like breaking sound barrier. Hubby had a hard time holding this 30 pound bundle of squiggley muscle up just for a quick snap shot.

Mr. Salad Fingers has grown from a little 5 pound piglet born the last week of October to 30 pounds of fun, he thinks he is a dog too. He 'barks' kinda like the neighbors dogs at intruders. He also squeaks when he wants a deep tissue belly rub. His favorite things to nibble on are: Shoe Laces, top of mom's boots, dad's ankles and gives muddy kisses to Saenz & Zephyr's calves.

Here he is just yelling and protesting his picture being taken.

Here he is running for help and refuge to the guineas coop.

This is Saenz holding sweet Beijing, a silky smooth cross-breed banty, cochin.

All this took place on Christmas. Hope you all had a wonderful, family-filled day.

Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday Dad!

Zephyr with the first dozen chicken tamales ready to steam.

Zephyr showing mommie how to frost Dad's cookie cake.

Saenz giving mom a very reluctant smile just for Dad's big day.

Santa's helpers busy at work.

Dad's cookie cake the boys made and decorated. However, I believe we should stop and give thanks. To our Creator and honor this season with wishes of happiness, joy, peace and good will towards all people.

Bullies on eBay's blogs

On December 25 th, will be my 2 year anniversary of finding the blogs on eBay. I was selling at the time and found another seller 'had taken' my photos to sell their product.

At first, it was exciting to talk to people all over the world and get business advice. However, much like the world, the eBay blogs are multi-layered much like an onion with: hidden agendas, false persona's, cut-throat competition, copy-cats, scammers, thieves, and numerous personal vendettas to settle.

It's is a sad thing to say but I have seen kind people send money to 'help' others only to have those same folks torn apart by the people that gave a handout. Some even feel it is okay to pardon the ill treatment of other's because one person just has the need to bully others. I have seen horrible 'male bloggers' sexually harass female bloggers, say sexual things about their: children, husbands, even farm animals.

Sellers also talk about others on IM, give out customer information, and use others ideas.

A gift group was started but then 'some' decided it was their personal bank at certain times of the month and 'asked for gifts' to get by until their paycheck cleared.

As folks (sellers)grew comfortable; some would create zero ids (usernames) in order, to spread hate, lies or THE TRUTH about others though it would hurt their business under their normal blogging/selling id.

What is even more ludicrous is: eBay does "ALMOST" nothing to clean up or moderate the slander, libel, scamming, or sexual harassment of others. One BRILLIANT CRIMINAL MIND (a power seller) has found if comments are '''deleted''' then eBay will do nothing.

Why????????

Simple bottom line, eBay is losing money and this pond scum detritus adds to their coffers.

AND YET, of the 100 daily bloggers. I have made a hand full of friends whom I would give a organ to.

The world is a strange and lovely place, despite......Bullies on blogs.

When a book isn't a book

When Saenz was around three years old, I purchased him an educational book on Sharks. It was not a child's book but an adult's & hubby questioned why I spent so much on a book for a toddler. Though I did buy him children's books; this one book was something I knew would fill his heart with joy.

Saenz has always taken care of his books. Since he was 18 months old I knew without a doubt he was dyslexic and thus had no interest in scribbling in books. He has a great love of books and all things dealing with knowledge/discovery inside book covers.

So, this wonderful book had color pages on hundreds of shark species from conception to death; he and I would sit for hours 'reading' the book. He would even fall asleep holding this heavy, hard bound book.

This week, I left Zephyr home with his dad to go pickup Saenz after school. Let's just say; MEN ARE NOT MULTI TASKERS. Saenz's room was breached and not only did Zephyr make a mess of the room but, he literally 'broke' the Shark book.

When I got Saenz home and he opened his room door to the discovery. The look of pain, violation, and loss on his face was so great. My heart broke in half because I could do nothing to assuage his loss. Luckily, I did an immediate search on eBay and found the book. I am happy to report that I not only have the book on its way to Saenz's room; I have come to realize another thing.

The BOOK, was not just an object; it was a treasure cove of wonderful memories spent alone or with a parent. The BOOK, was a symbol of peace and harmony in a world that sometimes did not make sense do to a boy who's brain processes written information differently. The BOOK, was one small thread in "the quilt" that makes our 'family blanket' warm and safe to a ten year old boy.

Again, I am so fortunate to have my sons; they are my BOOK (for each day adds a page) & BLANKET of comfort.

Guineas, Goats, and Pig

OH MY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week was a fun action-pack thrill ride.

We decided since our Guineas are big enough not to be taken off by an eagle or hawk; to let them free range during the day. At first they were reluctant to have the entire property to roam and clear of insects but soon they caught on to protecting their turf. The boys and I made the discovery by accident one afternoon if you drive towards them; they all RUSH you like a mob while making a horrendous noise (supposedly to frighten off predators). HOWEVER, if you honk the horn at them they scatter back to safety. This just made Saenz & Zephyr howl with laughter because no matter how many times we drove towards them, honked and backed off the Guinea Gang would still do the same thing over and over; leading my scientific minded Saenz to say;

"THOSE ARE SOME REALLY DUMB BIRDS."

ROFL

Obama my sweet but not too bright male Boer goat kept getting his rack stuck through a fence. No matter how you try, he is determined to hang himself through the fence. We have hung a double panel of chicken wire to keep Mr. Genius safe but, he figures out how to pull off the protective layer. Last time he got stuck, I tried to push is head down and back to release him to no avail. So, after an hour tug of war; I gave up and finished my bird rounds because they were STARVING. When I let the Guinea Gang out; they made a unified bee-line straight to where Obama was stuck & crying and let out this horrible noise like banshees laughing in the maw of Hell.

My educated wager was Obama could not stand the humiliation of being laughed out by the Guiena Gang and unstuck his own stubborn bright self.

Mr. Salad Fingers also disappeared for four hours and I was heart broken to think he was killed or taken off. After a long nap & a really hungry belly; he let us know he was under the house; unable to find his way out. Saenz basically started tearing the house apart to get him out. Wouldn't you know it, a hot dog got him close enough that Gil was able to grab his ear.

It's always an adventure here in Cow & Chicken Town.

As a family we are blessed with these beautiful creatures to take care of; and I would not change a thing.

Mr. Salad Fingers 1st Bath

Just to let you know, a Piglet has a really bad odor if he is not allowed a place to defecate at night in the open. We have been keeping him in a dog kennel til we finish his POKE. Each morning, I have been rubbing him down with wet wipes but, he needed a bath desperately. So, this a.m. as a family; we gave Mr. Salad Fingers his first bath.

Let me tell you, the entire country side knew of his displeasure. ROFL
OH BY THE WAY
DID YOU KNOW; pigs can jump seriously considering buying him some basketball shoes & shorts to have him try out for the GW Longhorn team.

Skunks raided our Guinea Coop

This is a sad day on the farm, our guinea coop was raided last night by skunks. (caught in the act) Four guineas and one banty rooster was carried off. Makes me sad to know they met such a violent death.
Hubby, the boys and I will be reinforcing their house this afternoon. Yesterday, my favorite banty hen was taken, Orange Glo. She was such a great mother and egg sitter. She was also a hen that like to be handled and petted. I do try not to handle my birds much, I would rather they be 'natural.'
Good bye guineas, Sprout & Orange Glo
Thank you bonnielege for being so sweet and understanding for lighting that candle. It's much appreciated.

Wake up Saenz & Happy 4th Zephy

Saenz is always grouchy before school. Soooooo much like his dad, not a morning person. Good morning my Little Man, Zephyr, at 0830 docs in Maryland were inducing me and upping the pictocin trying to urge him out.

Thing is; Little Man wasn't having it so later that evening docs took him by C-Section. OMG he was huge and loud 8 lbs and 15 oz with the wails of a MAD AS HELL, FOGHORN.

I love both my sons!

GAY BUG--not a virus

Okay I just love the way kids think and ask questions without filters.

Yesterday, Saenz saw two insects stuck together at the butt. They were insects because each had six legs and they were beetles of some sort and were obviously having insect sex. ROFL

Yes, it seems everything on our farm procreates & all year long.

So he asks me, "MOM, are those gay bugs?"

I told him, "I don't know. " And told him to them over and check for the "Bs"
(boobs or balls).

He said, "Nope that it would be rude to break up their pairing." He did want to know if they were both boys.

Again told him I don't know if they were boys or girls. But, if he felt it was important not to like or see gay things living.

"JUST STOMP THEM."

To which he replied, "NOPE, they are not hurting me."

To which I answered, "Remember that--once you become a man. No need to hate or dislike that which can not harm you. Even if something can harm you, Saenz, you can usually walk away and leave it alone."

So, I can't wait to see what his ten year old mind will come up with next. I am very aware he is coming into his own opinions about sex and body functions. I have noticed him getting jokes on television. This fact means I need to be proactive and ready for his questions because he is hearing things at school and other places. We also have two female cats that go into heat regularly so, their biological changes prompt conversations at least once a month.

Never a dull moment @ Cow & Chicken Town

Do you wonder?

Today, while driving Saenz to school. I thought about a news story I watched on television last night.

The subject dealt with:

A former scientist that was not mentioned in this years' awarding of the Pulitzer Prize in science. Yet, the men who did win stood on his research and discovery. The non-awarded discovered the gene that causes jellyfish to glow. They used his research to develop a technique to HIGHLIGHT the growth of cancer cells within living tissues. The non-awarde is now an out of work, scientist who found a ten dollar an hour job driving a courtesy van at a car dealership.

So here is the thought:

What brush of greatness have you had?

What thoughts rumble in your brain that never get to paper or see fruition?

As a fourth grade child, (LOS ANGELES, California) I got in serious trouble in my science class for suggesting that in the future test tube babies would be possible. Think about that, I was 8-9 in 1974 and I was almost suspended for suggesting such an UNGODLY act.

What future advancements are waiting on the tongue of small children who are blessed not to have constraints on their thinking & just need some one to listen.

Any who, I am just thinking aloud.

Mr. Dennis & my thoughts

I have a friend, Ms. Lilly and she is in her late sixties as well as her husband. Since we moved here in 2006, Mr. Dennis has been ill. The visible changes in his carriage and physical appearance are very noticeable and rapidly change. Ms. Lilly spends the better part of each week driving him to and from medical appointments in San Antonio (VA) and Corpus Christi.

It is so hard to watch a person deteriorate before your eyes however, from my vantage point it's more noticeable than from hers. This man is the love of Ms. Lilly's life and though she knows he is slipping--I can see changes in her. I really don't know if she is afraid he is suffering or more afraid of being alone with no one to take care of.

Another thing I think about is what is he thinking and feeling since he surely must know his time is drawing to a close in this life. I wonder he is too is just wondering when his suffering is going to end and the strain he most know he is putting on his wife from all the care she has to give. So, I sit and think about how I would carry on if I was in the same boat. Would I be a loving and supportive spouse if it was my husband?

All I can hope to do is be available for Ms. Lilly and be willing to listen to her fears and wipe her tears. I can offer her a place to come when she needs a break from her self. Though there are two decades separating our lives, I can see so much of me in her and vice versa. I pray & mediate to find the same grace and humility she walks with everyday.

Love Ya Ms. Lilly,
~:>

Just a thought

Today, I got one of those crazy emails. You know the ones (chain mail); send this to 7 people and fortune will befall you. While, I would have normally just hit the delete button; this time I scrolled to find a wonderful thought that prompted this entry.

'To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.'

When God takes something from your grasp,

He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to

receive something better.

The will of God will never take you where

the Grace of God will not protect you.'

And while I did send the email around after cutting out other's email addy's, I thought about the words. As I do not claim myself to be Christan because I am not by any stretch of the imagination--Christ like.

I do believe in being, doing, and giving the best of myself to others. I try to teach my sons the 'secrets' I have found to ease their paths in this life and the next by being true to their inherent human nature. I want them to be able to feel the connection, awe, and wonder this life has in everything to include death.

I want them to work for their sucesses and failures while trusting their deeds will enable them to reach for greater things than themselves. (I.E. Their own family-one day.) I want them to trust in having a future even when all the NOISE on television and other media rants about GLOOM & DOOM. All this entry boils down to is:

I believe in TRUST and I will walk in my own version of faith to honor a higher power----Our Creator.

Teaching Personal Repsonsibility

This is a sticky wicket with me. Friday, Saenz's teacher called me to inform of his lack of homework assignments. This shocked me to the core because he is not allowed to go anywhere in the house right after school until his homework is completed. As we work on it, I cook dinner & help Zephyr color.

The end of the six weeks was this passed week, and he has been dinged with three homework missing points. Basically this means he is not allowed to participate in Fabulous Friday. (Pizza Party, untucking of shirts and extra recess.) And here is where the problem lays:

He was all in tears about 'forgetting' his homework assignments and had the gall to ask me to help him out. Promising to turn in all his assignments if I call his teacher to get him allowed to participate.

THIS REALLY PIZZED ME OFF

1. What about the other children who met the standard?
2. Even hubby was pressuring me to HELP him out.
3. Do parents really expect their children to learn by shouldering all the weight of their child's mistakes and learning experiences?
4. I helped my child each night with his homework, ensured his homework was in his folders placed in his backpack, and taken to school everyday.
5. Does Saenz think BARGAINING with me will make me forget his responsibility to himself, his classmates and teacher?

SO::::::::::::::::

I told him "No way on this planet would I; pick him up early or get him to Fabulous Friday."

It is my responsibility to allow my child to feel the PRICK & Pain of his own lack of personal responsibility. Mind you, I am all for helping my child just not for shouldering his responsibility. Perhaps, this one disappointment will enable him to see how his INACTION'S carry weight and consequence?

WHO KNOWS but, this is my thought for the day.

Helping my son over come IRLEN

Just this year my eldest son, Saenz has been diagnosed with IRLEN or a variant on dyslexia. We already know he has ADD but a mild form. (MY theory is his behavior is linked to his inability to see as others do & thus he acts out.)

GO HERE FOR INFORMATION & DEMONSTRATION of how he sees.

http://www.irlen.com/

Since white paper and fluorescent lighting seems to be an issue for him. We are switching back to regular light bulbs in his room and the kitchen table (homework) station. This hopefully will help cut down some of his headaches until a certified physician comes back down to Cow & Chicken Town to test his 'color variation & astigmatism' and prescribe his layered colored glasses.

What is interesting is; his special education teacher wants to test me to see if his diagnosis has a heredity link. Either way, all I know is I have no depth perception, am clumsy and hate bright lighting.

Never knew my penchant for very dark curtains may be a link to a visual encoding & decoding problem in my own brain.

I will write more as we know more...............

Stay tuned, and I will let you know about regular vs. fluorescent light bulbs.

In the car; weird revelation

I was thinking today about how my husband and I decided the names for our sons. It's weird but in both cases, we were out driving & accomplishing errands.

Saenz Knight was picked on San Antonio's highway 90 and Zephyr Ayrt was decided coming back from the Betheseda in Maryland. Way weird to realize driving & highways have given us private time to talk about something significant like naming our children. I suppose it is a sign that Americans spend lots of time driving.

Either way, Saenz is named after each of his grandfathers' surnames. Zephyr is from Zephyrus (I love my tour in Crete, Greece.) and Aryt is from Tyra (She died while pregnant with him.) I hate to take credit for these names but like the uniqueness and them not being another common name. Their names have meanings and link them to their pasts.

Anyway that is my LIGHT BULB moment of the day. ~:>

You May Not Know

This is a poem dedicated to all my brothers and sisters in arms in these uncertain times. I wrote this while remembering my own smallness and fear while on detail to a flight line:

You May Not Know

The sound of the ramp hitting ground
Vibrations of boots plunking sound
You are here to liberate
Just leaving family, last week-late

You May Not Know

The sound of a heart in its chest
Pushing blood at its best
Saluting a woodened box draped in shroud
That could be you-thinking not--aloud

CUMP-NEY taught me to lurk.

I am a long time people observer, and this comes from my grandparents adage; "child should be seen and not heard." As children, we were expected to play outside all day and then come in for meals only to return to the outdoors after eating. Now, this changed if we has CUMP-NEY.

Then we had our faces, hands and yes--bare feet were washed along with hair tidied. When CUMP-NEY showed up, we sat quietly on the cross-legged on the floor out of traffic; while adults talked. It was hard to stay quiet and usually if the conversation turned 'private' we were soon ushered outside on the front porch. Mind you, the screen door did not silence the conversation.

CUMP-NEY taught me: racism, out of wedlock babies, marital affairs, stealing, lying, cheating, illnesses, bodily functions, finance, gossiping and just plain old human weaknesses.

Fast forward to my military career and we still had this version of CUMP-NEY. When folks got into trouble, they lost their status (security clearance) and someone had to escort them within secured areas to process paperwork. This is how several times I have been that child again sitting quietly on the floor while another's career hung in the balance over making poor choices. Again here we will leap forward into a public arena:

I have watched people all my life and will continue to do so. The one thing I will do is; not sugar coat what I see and feel when people want to be coddled for not accepting personal responsibility. I will not PUT ON AIRS for CUMP-NEY because to with hold honest opinion is the same as LYING in my opinion. And yes, I realize some folks have the gift of tact. I however, DO NOT. So to ask me to change my personnae to placate another in the name of false empathy is dishonest.

So here I will go back to lurking..................

Simply family in touch with life

Each day, I awake to either stare off into the ceiling until my brain is ready to move. Or, I get out of bed to dress and get Saenz ready for school along with little man. Mind you; I wait until the sun has peeked in or we will chance running into a skunk, coyote, or oppossum on the way to our farm truck. Then armed with thermos or juice box we make our way to George West in relative silence for the 13 miles through back country "farm to market" roads.

My sons are fortunate because they can witness nature on our small five acres with our animals or play the wild animal tally each time we take a trip. This fine morning it was only 62 degrees outside and still kinda dark and we counting 5 rather large field rats, 3 Mexican eagles eating roadkill, countless cows of different breeds, butterflies and one very lost wild pig that ran out in front of us. Each day brings us new tallies and adventures in the 45 minute round trip. I think about how different their life would be in San Antonio with busing to school and traffic jams on the way home.

Each day I count my blessing for the sweetness of our country home, almost none existent crime, clean air (minus cow piles and chicken pooh), and realize we are simply family in touch with life around us.

Gun debate, get one or not to get one?Posted Sep-21-08 07:15:08 PDTThat is the question...........After hubby finally saw the rattler I have told him about, seen her and found her shed. He just did not believe me I guess. You can read the post from yesterday when he spotted her. So, now our heated discussion is to buy and kept a shotgun.

He is for buying and I am against. Mind you, I know how he keeps care of his tools. (I am the one who picks them up and puts them back in his work shop.) So, my arguement is no way because even if the gun is kept in a gun safe; he would leave the keys hanging around.

---Both my sons are very adept hunters of small objects----

Next point, though we did kill the yearling ratter last week. I did not feel bad about killing it for the simple reason it was much harder to see, it did not rattle, and was laying in ambush mode. The five foot snake on the other hand, has lived a long time and has the "right" genes to pass on to future generations, and was not in our walking path.

OPINIONS welcome here:

We have a 5x12 gun closet that is bolted/locked. There are two keys. We raised two boys and raised their friends. There was always a housefull of kids in our home watching TV, doing homework, hanging out while we were both home and away. Never an incident.

ON THE OTHER HAND .. my husband's cousin who had two boys the same age as our kids had an arsonal as well ... guns were never locked up ... the kids played with them and shot them off in the house ... they also burned the neighbor's barn down and ACCIDENTLY cut half their little sister's foot off with the lawn mower.

You and only you can make your home safe ... the only killing that went on in our home was when the hunting dogs killed my chickens.

Baby Rattle Snake; Repost from Ebay

This is what I almost stepped on this morning.  Seems the animals are confused with the Texas weather.  This one was curled up and I almost stepped on top of it while in my yard. It was like 14 inches long, only had 2 buttons, had just fed and did NOT RATTLE because it was digesting its food.

I got hubby and showed him and then he took the shovel and beheaded it. My boys walk through the yard all the time with sandals and such. Not after today, we are going to buy work boots.

Photobucket

And here are my first two towel hangars I taught myself to make with the advice of frodobaggins and mynetoo.  Thanks Ladies, I have another 4 done and they are looking better with each one I practice.  My sister just bought her first home and I am making a load of hand made crocheted: hand towels, dish cloths, doilies, table runners to decorate her home.  Also will be making about 75 of these as Christmas gifts for others in our extended families.

I hope your slice of heaven is just that---heaven.  I know mine is!

19 Days, Waterfall, and dragonflies
.
Posted Sep-04-08 15:27:00 PDTI have been thinking of you for a long time almost as long as I walked with JoJo; though we have never formally met. Each time I focus on you with mediation and prayer; I get inner image of you--of dragonflies on summer breezes, green foliage, and warm smiles. I know of your pain, uncertainty, and fierce hope because I once held those traits close at hand.

.

Boddhi knows how much you care for him; I can feel it in the man that he has become and is expressed through his art. You taught him how to love himself, his daughter and the world and this is also depicted in his artwork. Sometimes though, his ‘old soul’ needs to roam to find spiritual fulfillment and to seek out new experiences. He knows he is dying (albeit we all are) but not with the finality of his cancer sentence. Boddhi does not mean to hurt you; he is just following his path to assuage his own guilt, sins and other let downs.

.

Now on to the waterfall, Kat all I can tell you here is; tears for you are okay. When I think of your waterfall; I believe perhaps it is our Creator’s way of being fruitful though you. Water is one of our life sustaining forces because much like our other needs without it we die. So perhaps your Waterfall moment is what refreshes you enough to carry on in this time of your life.

.

Just know, I think of you always. I come to the blogs to find your words.
.
Don’t give up,
.

Posted Sep-06-08 17:39:27 PDTLast night an interesting conversation took place between myself and another. Basically the story given by this blogger was she was giving facts whereas, I was bragging about education, experience, and talking down to others.
.
"I DID NOT SAY YOUR NAME."
.
Yet, when I put her comments within her blog thread and from a male blogger's post including similiar comments from my own. The above phrase was offered as a whimsical faulty reasoning. So, this got me thinking.
.
If said blogger, a devout Christain was not in fact talking about me then she was "bearing false witness" against another thus breaking the 9th Commandment of the Bible. In the days of ancient Hebrews, the 'WITNESS' who gave testimony thus became another person's prosecutor. And in ancient times an accused person could be PUT TO DEATH over a malicious person "bearing false witness."
.
After reading this and reflecting, that by 'talking around' and not actually saying or typing a person's name does not absolve a person from always telling the truth when confronted. In my opinion, lying against another fits into the 9th Commandment.
.

So, as I sit here and ask myself. Have you committed this act? I am positive I have, thing is when I am questioned. As uncomfortable as I find myself feeling at the confrontation I will tell the truth.
.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. (Exodus 20:16)

bearing false witness....that sounds a bit strong, but, again I don't know the bible so I'm not sure of the biblical meaning of the phrase.

CPD, I also take the petty gossiping and egging on bloggers to fight as the same thing. A form of lying thus 'false witness.'

Shelld0n, It is when we don't recognize our own faults and mistakes when trouble gets deep.

True, you do "call" people out by name when it is in your vested interest. However see above comment to CPD. JMHO & you have a wonderful day.
